In Praise
I praise you, Lord, for the Renewing Spring;
For each reborn heart which has to sing,
For trees and flowers and all that grows,
For each person who once again can say, “I know.”
I praise you, Lord, for your Summer Song;
When, with you close beside, we cannot go wrong,
For your cool water and renewing streams,
For within you alone, lie all our dreams.
I praise you, Lord, for the Autumn Fall;
For reminders we really don’t know it all,
For bright colored leaves and departing birds,
For the still, bright voice of your refreshing words.
I praise you, Lord, for the Winter Chill;
When we struggle with our questioning of your will,
For each new snowflake - your exquisite lace,
For unbounding forgiveness and encompassing grace.
I praise you, Lord, for the Seasons of Change;
For this spiraling cycle of circling range,
For your strength and love which inspire us to grow,
So that, centered, we can say “You’ll let us know.”
